The CBC community proudly celebrates a landmark achievement in India’s clean energy journey with the inauguration of the 5.4 GW Waaree Chikhli Unit, the country’s largest solar cell manufacturing facility. This world-class project, led by our esteemed CBC Chair for India & Co-Chair for Asia, Dr. Hitesh Doshi, and the visionary Waaree team, represents a transformative step toward building a resilient, self-reliant renewable energy ecosystem.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by several key dignitaries, including Shri Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat, and Shri C. R. Paatil, Union Minister of Jal Shakti. Their presence underscored the strategic importance of this project to India’s energy and industrial future.

This milestone comes as India surpasses 100 GW of installed solar power capacity, progressing steadily toward its target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. Solar will play a central role in achieving this bold vision, and Waaree’s leadership is paving the way forward.
Further strengthening its global footprint, Waaree recently launched a 1.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Brookshire, Texas, USA — a key step in advancing international clean energy collaboration.
Dr. Doshi's leadership and commitment to innovation, sustainability, and localization perfectly reflect CBC’s mission to support clean tech ecosystems and cross-border cooperation. We look forward to many more milestones from him and the Waaree Group.
