The CBC Leadership Family embarked on a high-impact Business Mission to China, visiting Guofuhee in Zhangjiagang, HyperStrong in Beijing, and FoxESS in Wuxi.
This mission reinforced CBC’s strategic partnerships in hydrogen, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and solar technology, fostering deeper collaboration with key industry leaders driving the global cleantech transition.

The Mission followed CBC’s VIP participation at SNEC ES & H2 2024, where CBC leaders delivered keynote speeches, hosted the first-ever Clean Water Hub 300 m² expo space, and led joint CBC & SNEC industry forums.
China’s Leadership in the Cleantech Transformation
China continues to lead the global cleantech revolution, with companies like Guofuhee, HyperStrong, and FoxESS at the forefront of this transformation. These firms are not only driving hydrogen, battery storage, and solar advancements within China but are also expanding their influence on a global scale.
Solar Installations: A Record-Breaking Expansion*
By the end of 2024, China had installed an additional 277 GW of solar PV capacity, a 45.48% year-on-year increase, bringing its total installed capacity to approximately 887 GW—the highest in the world. This milestone reinforces China’s dominance in renewable energy deployment and demonstrates its commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS): Scaling Up for Grid Stability
China's focus on integrating renewable energy has also driven rapid expansion in energy storage. By mid-2024, operational energy storage projects reached 103.3 GW, reflecting a 47% year-on-year increase. Notably, the installed capacity of new-type energy storage systems surpassed that of traditional pumped hydro storage for the first time, highlighting the country’s shift toward more flexible, large-scale energy storage solutions.
Hydrogen Production: Leading the Global Green Hydrogen Economy*
China has positioned itself as the largest producer of green hydrogen, with over 2.5 GW of electrolyzer capacity installed by the end of 2024—exceeding its 2025 target ahead of schedule. This capacity is expected to generate 220,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually, more than the combined output of the rest of the world. China also leads in electrolyzer manufacturing, accounting for 60% of global capacity, driving down production costs and accelerating adoption.

Guofuhee: A Global Leader in Hydrogen Innovation
The delegation first visited Guofuhee, a world leader in hydrogen energy solutions and advanced electrolyzer manufacturing. Led by Pinfang Wu, widely recognized as the “Father of Hydrogen in China", our Honorary Co-Chair of CBC Clean Hydrogen Hub, the company has been instrumental in advancing China’s hydrogen economy. Recently, Guofuhee entered the stock exchange (information updated in Decemebr 2024), securing a multi-billion-dollar market valuation, reflecting strong investor confidence in the future of hydrogen technology.
Guofuhee is also a CBC Visionary Corporate Partner, and together with CBC, it co-founded GFHA (Go For Hydrogen Africa) to accelerate clean hydrogen adoption on the African continent.
HyperStrong: A Leader in BESS and Energy Storage Solutions
In Beijing, the delegation engaged with HyperStrong, a cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) company. Led by Dr. Jianhui Zhang (CBC Co-Chair of Energy Majors, Mining and Utilities Hub (In Charge of China), HyperStrong is playing a crucial role in stabilizing renewable energy grids and ensuring sustainable energy storage solutions.
HyperStrong also recently entered the stock exchange (information updated in February 2025), a testament to the growing market confidence in energy storage technologies.
As a CBC Visionary Corporate Partner, HyperStrong collaborates with CBC's joint ventures Cleanvestree Africa and GFHA to expand battery storage solutions in key African markets.

FoxESS: Revolutionizing Inverter and Storage Technologies
In Wuxi, the CBC delegation visited FoxESS, a global leader in solar inverters and energy storage solutions. Michael Zhu, Co-founder and CEO of FoxESS, has led the company in expanding its cutting-edge technology across international markets. FoxESS is driving the adoption of intelligent energy management systems, supporting a cleaner and more efficient renewable energy future.
Beyond Business: Cultural and Social Engagements
Beyond high-level business meetings, CBC’s Chinese partners ensured an immersive cultural experience for the delegation. The visit included a tour of the Great Wall and a visit to the Lingshan Grand Buddha in Wuxi, offering an opportunity to appreciate China’s rich history and cultural heritage while strengthening international friendships.
A Bright Future for Cleantech and Clean Hydrogen
Thanks to visionary leaders such as Pinfang Wu, Dr. Jianhui Zhang, and Michael Zhu, the future of solar, clean hydrogen, and battery storage looks brighter than ever. These companies are actively seeking global business opportunities in BESS, hydrogen, and next-generation energy solutions, aligning with CBC’s strategic initiatives under the CBC Clean Hydrogen Hub and CBC StorageVersity Hub.
As CBC continues to expand its collaborations in China, these partnerships will play a critical role in accelerating the global cleantech transition, ensuring that the world moves closer to a sustainable and energy-secure future. #TogetherWeAreStronger
