CBC Leaders Visit Jiao Yang New Energy's 45 MW Solar & Fishery Project – Advancing Mission to Build a Regenerative World through Renewable Energies and Aquaculture

Following the strategic partnership signed in October 2024 in Xuzhou, China — “Empowering Moroccos and Africas Financial and Investment Landscape in Clean Hydrogen Development” — between Jiao Yang New Energy, CBC, and its joint ventures GFHA (Go For Hydrogen Africa) and Cleanvestree Africa, CBC Leaders returned to the region to deepen collaboration on regenerative development models.

During this visit, CBC Leaders held a high-level strategy meeting at the Xuzhou headquarters of Jiao Yang New Energy with its CEO, Anastasia (Sun Ru). In recognition of her visionary leadership and commitment to sustainable finance, Anastasia has recently been appointed CBC Co-Chair of the Financial and Investor Hub (In Charge of China Relations) and Chair of the CBC Empowering Women Hub for China.

Revitalization of Post-Industrial Lakes through Renewable Energy and Aquaculture

Following the strategic talks, the delegation toured one of Jiao Yang New Energy’s flagship projects just outside Xuzhou. This innovative initiative merges solar energy generation with the ecological revitalization of post-industrial lakes through aquaculture — a forward-looking, regenerative model with tremendous potential for adaptation across Africa.

“The project is still under construction,” shared Anastasia. “Once completed, it will reach 45 MW, fully aligning with China’s national vision to restore degraded land, enhance food security, and accelerate clean energy adoption.”

Indeed, the Chinese government has actively promoted projects that combine solar farms with sustainable aquaculture, especially in previously neglected industrial zones. These dual-purpose projects transform polluted and unused landscapes into biodiverse, productive ecosystems.

China’s leadership in solar energy is unmatched. As of December 2024, the country had achieved a total installed solar capacity of approximately 887 gigawatts (GW) — a 45% increase from the previous year, far exceeding the earlier 2025 target of 400 GW. In 2024 alone, China added around 277 GW, accounting for nearly 64% of the worlds new renewable energy installations. This phenomenal growth cements China’s position as the global leader in solar power and demonstrates the country’s capability to implement transformative, large-scale projects at speed and scale.

Toward the Regenerative Future of the African Continent

Mostafa Boulal, CEO of Coreas HighTech, CBC Chair for Morocco & Co-Chair of CBC Clean Water Hub (In Charge of Africa and CEO of GFHA (Go For Hydrogen Africa), emphasized the strategic relevance of these dual-purpose models for Africa:

“These kinds of integrated solar and aquaculture projects could be deployed not just in Morocco, but across the entire African continent. In Africa, food security is even more critical than energy security, and here we provide both.We will closely study the financial and business models involved, and having first-hand insights from Ms. Anastasia will help us implement them optimally. As we always say — #TogetherWeAreStronger.”

Tomasz Slusarz, CBC Founder and Vision Streamliner, added:

“At CBC, our vision goes beyond sustainability — we aim to build a regenerative world. Projects like this allow us to turn unused post-industrial land into hubs of clean energy and food production, while bringing biodiversity and life back to these spaces. We believe that to build a better planet, we must restore what weve destroyed. This project is a shining example that we can — and must — do it.”

As CBC continues expanding its cross-continental ecosystem of trusted partners, this kind of  projects could represent more than a technical achievement — they can become a symbol of collaboration between China, Morocco, and Africa in the clean technologies and aquaculture space thus securing both energy and food security. Together, we are not only meeting today’s energy demands but also reviving ecosystems, empowering communities, and regenerating the Earth itself” concluded Justin Gu, General Manager, GF Hydrogen Europe; CBC Co-Chair of Clean Hydrogen Hub (In Charge of China Relations) and CTO at GFHA (Go For Hydrogen Africa)
